I 100% AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT
Recently I have found myself using the expression “100%.”
Someone says something that I agree with and I answer with, “100%.”… Someone asks me if I am hungry and I answer with, “100%.”

“VALID ID & REGISTRATION PLEASE”
While driving I was recently pulled over by a police offer. Now don’t ask any questions because that is not the point of this post, but no, I didn’t get a ticket. The officer asked me for a valid ID and registration. As opposed to my “invalid” ID that I usually carry around? As he brought back my license I couldn’t help but think about the word “valid”.

WORK IS WORK
If we are willing to work hard in one area of our life, chances are, we are willing to work hard in all areas. Studies show that hard workers in the classroom end up working hard on the field, working hard at the office, working hard at home, working hard on themselves, working hard on their relationships.

TAKE OUT YOUR SKETCHBOOK
My youngest has always loved art, but she started drawing in earnest about a month ago in a brand new sketchbook… This week she brought it to me, proud and excited to show me that she had filled every page of that book in just two weeks. She flipped through it with me page by page.

Be Honest - We All Like A Little Country Music
A lesser known fact is that this guy, born and raised in New York, has always loved country music. And every so often there is nothing better than driving all day listening to some good country.

WE NEED MORE FIREFIGHTERS
Fire fighters focus on the most dangerous parts of the fire and put more manpower or energy on controlling that specific area. They identify the hottest spots of the fire and they run towards it.

DON’T FORGET THE PAST
If we forget the past, our laser focus on the future can cause us to forget the price we already paid for the lessons we have previously learned.

I’ll SEE YOU AT THE TOP
At 4am on Saturday I decided to slip out of the house without waking anyone up to catch the sunrise at the highest peak on the coast… I was able to climb to the eventual peak, marked by the US Coast and Geodetic Survey marker placed up at the top of the mountain in 1926. As I made my way back down I thought of the lessons learned.

IF YOU WANT TO BUILD A SHIP…
“If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.” ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE LETTERS “W” and “E”
At times it’s funny what a difference one letter can make.
The difference between: Dead and Read, Die and Dye, Food and Wood.

MUSK, BEZOS, & BRANSON: ONE COMMON THREAD
Starting any business, building any team, creating anything new in any industry or marketplace will take incredibly hard work.

If you choose the black door on the left, go to page 97.
If you choose the green door on the right, go to page 53.

YOUR LIFE: RENT vs SALE
There is a point in every person’s life when renting makes more sense than owning. Seems a strange statement from someone who has built all of their businesses around the mission of delivering the dream of home ownership…

I PINKY PROMISE YOU…
All of us at one time or another probably found ourselves out on the playground at recess making a promise to a friend by locking pinkies…

DID ANYONE ASK FOR MY OPINION?
Does everyone’s opinion matter equally? No. Perhaps better said, not everyone’s opinion matters equally on every topic.

FIND YOUR HIVE
Who wants to be an apiculturist? Ok, I didn’t know what that was either. Let’s start over. Who wants to be a beekeeper?

THE PROBLEM WITH TOP 10 LISTS
Acknowledgment is important. Rewards are needed. Even trophies at times deserved… But there is a growing problem with these “Best Of” lists, and it has nothing to do with humility…

A LITTLE LESS FRICTION, A LITTLE MORE FLOW
Nope, not an Elvis song from 60’s… But everybody would welcome a little more flow into their world.

ONE THING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO BE THE BEST AT ANYTHING
When we think of the best, perhaps we think of world class athletes or incredible teams. Maybe we think of word changing companies, or iconic entrepreneurs.

HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?
I was recently asked what my biggest challenge has been in growing a business over the past two decades. Many began to run through my mind. But as I really thought about what the most difficult challenge has been, it came down to that word, disappointment.
